The recruit will perform a variety of work that includes diverse regular/periodic and ad hoc tasks all related to the quantitative and qualitative measurement of risk taken and held by an Energy Trading Organization. These tasks include:
1. Cross-checking of Trade and Delivery data input into a Commodity Trading Risk Management (“CTRM”) Software system against deal tickets, broker statements, shipping and other documents;
2. Creating Forward Curve data, using Excel or other software, from data obtained from our Traders, OTC Brokers, Exchange settlements, and/or information services such as Reuters, Bloomberg and/or other market data provider; analyzing and reconciling
Forward Curves with third party curves, catching and correcting mistakes in such Forward Curves, uploading Forward Curve Data to the CTRM system, and maintaining our Forward Curve data base ;
3. Creating Daily PnL and VaR reports from the CTRM system. Analyze PnL reports to catch errors and, explain substantial daily PnL and VaR changes, work with Front Office traders to understand and interpret the causes for PnL and VaR changes, which cannot be easily understood directly
4. Using the CTRM system, create Daily Credit Exposure reports, monitor credit exposure to Counterparties against threshold levels and issue warnings to appropriate staff in the Front Office and Management in case of threshold breaches, use the CTRM to answer queries from Front Office about projected Credit Exposure for specific Counterparties.
5. General administration of the CTRM system, such as maintenance and allocation of User IDs, manage system permissions for those User IDs.
6. Collaborate with our CTRM software provider to fix bugs, or modify/customize the software to meet special needs of the Front, Middle, Back Office or Management.
7. Collaborate with all members of the Middle Office Team in Singapore, Tokyo, London and Houston to suggest and develop best-practice methods for risk management.
8. Monitor compliance of Front Office activities with the Market Risk Policy and escalate breaches of limits to the Risk Management Committee.
9. Assist in the implementation and UAT (User Acceptance Testing) of CTRM system.
10. Ad-hoc reporting as requested by the Risk Manager or senior officers such as COO/CRO/CFO, Governance and ComplianceBenefit
