    Our client is a Japanese trading company specialising in plastic resins and raw materials. They are currently seeking a Division Manager.

    【 Responsibilities 】
    - Take overall responsibility for the division’s sales planning and execution, with the objective of maximising revenue and profitability in line with the annual sales budget and short- and long-term business goals.
    - Drive market expansion by identifying and developing new business channels and opportunities, strengthening key relationships, and overseeing the implementation of commercial initiatives.
    - Define business objectives and performance targets for the division to support sustainable growth and strong performance.
    - Formulate long-term business strategies and plans to strengthen and maintain the company’s competitive position in the market.
    - Lead business development activities across Southeast Asia, particularly in Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines, as well as India, China, and Korea. Overseas business travel will be required.
    - Manage divisional resources effectively, including manpower planning, recruitment, hiring, and employee retention.
    - Review financial statements, sales reports, activity records, and other performance indicators to assess business results and identify areas for operational or programme improvement.
    - Promote a working culture that encourages proactive compliance with internal standards, company policies, and established procedures.
    - Lead commercial negotiations and industry networking activities, and develop strategic relationships with key customers and suppliers.
    - Build and maintain effective partnerships with vendors to ensure smooth coordination and strong collaboration among relevant stakeholders.
    - Evaluate new ideas and initiatives from both risk and opportunity perspectives while identifying potential areas for further business expansion.
    - Assume accountability for business plans, results, and related improvement actions, and provide regular updates and reports to the headquarters in Japan.
    - Maintain regular communication with affiliated companies to align on management matters, business priorities, and future direction.

Qualifications

    【 Requirements & Preferences 】

    (Must)
    - Degree in any discipline.
    - At least 15 years of sales experience involving plastic resins, plastic films, or related products within a chemical trading company.
    - Business-level proficiency in Japanese, equivalent to JLPT N1, to communicate effectively with Japanese-speaking clients and counterparts.
    - Extensive experience as a senior trading professional, with strong technical and commercial knowledge of plastic resins and plastic films, including hands-on experience in the principal trading of resin and film products used in packaging applications.
    - Strong knowledge of the relevant industry landscape, together with a well-established professional network within the sector.
    - Proven industry connections and practical experience within the Japanese plastic resin sector.
