Our Client is a Japanese-listed company and the largest producer of seasonings.
The Assistant Sales Manager (FMCG, Modern Trade) is responsible for managing assigned supermarket accounts and driving sales growth through strategic planning, buyer engagement, negotiation, and execution excellence. This role involves Joint Business Planning (JBP), account performance management, and close collaboration with customers to achieve sales and margin targets.
The role works closely with buyers, cross-functional teams, and senior management to support sustainable growth and continuous improvement initiatives.

Reporting To: Head of Department
【Responsibilities】
Product Management & Ordering
- Manage product ordering for assigned categories, coordinating with overseas affiliates and internal stakeholders to ensure timely supply.
- Plan orders and deliveries in line with sales forecasts, promotional activities, and new product launches.
- Monitor inventory levels and sales trends to optimize stock availability and minimize overstock risks.
- Collaborate with Sales Administration, Supply Chain, and affiliates to resolve order-related issues promptly.
Account Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement go-to-market, sales, and customer strategies for assigned Modern Trade accounts.
- Lead Joint Business Planning (JBP) initiatives, including annual plans and quarterly business reviews.
Negotiation & Customer Management
- Negotiate trading terms, promotions, and agreements with supermarket buyers to achieve business objectives.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with customers and industry contacts.
Performance Management & Analysis
- Conduct regular business reviews, identify performance gaps, and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor 5P execution performance and resolve issues with internal teams.
- Report on sales and margin forecasts, evaluate trends, and provide actionable insights.
- Perform post-promotion and post-evaluation analyses to improve strategies.
Execution & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Sales Admin, Supply Chain, Marketing, and other teams for smooth execution of sales plans.
- Drive product penetration, promotional activities, and new product launches in Modern Trade accounts.
- Collaborate with Marketing on BTL campaigns and new product listings.
Process Improvement & Ad Hoc Duties
- Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to enhance customer service and operational efficiency.
- Undertake ad hoc duties as required in line with departmental operations.

【Requirements & Preferences】
(Must)
- Bachelor's Degree in Sales and Marketing, Business, or similar
- At least 5 years of proven B2B sales & marketing experience within FMCG and Modern Trade/Supermarket channels
- Excellent communication in English and Mandarin to liaise with English and Mandarin-speaking counterparts
- Good understanding of supplier and customer relationship management, including supply chain, field marketing, and branding.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP and Pivot Table functions for efficient data processing and analysis), Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong interest in food, food culture, and food business (especially Japanese food)
