    Our client, a renowned animation, film, and entertainment company specializing in IP and visual content licensing, product merchandising, and marketing across Southeast Asia, is seeking a HR Manager (Japanese Speaking)

    【 Responsibilities 】
    - Lead and manage all HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, payroll, performance evaluation, and employee engagement.
    - Serve as the primary liaison between Singapore and Japan HQ on HR, expatriate management, and corporate matters.
    - Review, develop, and implement HR policies and procedures aligned with company goals and statutory requirements.
    - Oversee labor relations and ensure compliance with MOM regulations, Singapore Employment Act, and local HR best practices.
    - Manage expatriate-related matters such as work passes, tax coordination, relocation, and housing support.
    - Advise management on HR strategy, organizational structure, and talent development plans.
    - Handling visa applications for employees (e.g., Employment Pass, S Pass, Dependant Pass, etc.).
    - Engage and coordinate with external agencies, vendors, and government authorities on HR and compliance matters.
    - Plan and execute employee engagement events such as annual gatherings, anniversary celebrations, and company trips.
    - Manage insurance renewals, ISO/J-SOX/internal audits, and other HR compliance documentation.
    - Maintain accurate HR records and manage ACRA-related filings and documentation.
    - Supervise and guide the HR & Admin team to ensure smooth office operations.
    - Perform other ad-hoc duties and projects assigned by management.

    【 Requirements & Preferences 】

    (Must)
    - Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
    - Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a multinational organisation or Japanese company.
    - Proficiency in Japanese (JLPT N1 or equivalent) for communication with Japan HQ on business matters.
    - Experience handling work pass applications.
    - Experience supervising a small team (1–2 team members).
    - Strong knowledge of Singapore labor laws, HR compliance, and MOM regulations.
    - Hands-on experience in payroll administration, HR policy implementation, and employee relations.
    - Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    (Advantageous)
    - Experience in a small company or startup environment.
    - Interest in Japanese entertainment, animation, or film industries and willingness to commit long-term.
    - Knowledge of ISO or J-SOX compliance.
