• Job Description

  Our client is a Japanese eyewear retail brand with strong growth across Southeast Asia and a growing presence in Singapore. They are seeking a General Manager (Japanese Speaking) to lead the local business and drive sustainable growth.
  
  In the initial phase, the General Manager is expected to work closely with HQ and leverage internal support functions. The role will gradually transition toward full independent leadership.
  
  You will report directly to Japan HQ.
  
  【 Responsibilities 】
  
  1) Retail Business & Operations
  - Own full financial performance of the business, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow management, ensuring sustainable profitability and liquidity
  - Lead multi-store retail operations (10+ stores)
  - Drive sales growth, profitability improvement, and cost control
  - Develop and manage annual budget and forecasting
  - Manage finance operations including accounting, closing, and compliance, leveraging external partners or internal resources as appropriate
  
  2) Strategy & Expansion
  - Execute merchandising (MD) and marketing strategies in alignment with direction from Japan HQ, while proactively adapting them to local market needs
  - Lead store expansion strategy including site selection and lease negotiations (preferred)
  - Manage relationships with developers/landlords and external partners
  
  3) Organization Management
  - Lead and manage entire local team (stores and office)
  - Oversee hiring, evaluation, and development of staff
  
  4) HQ Communication
  - Communicate effectively with Japan HQ (via English or with interpreter/assistant support)
  - Execute local strategy aligned with HQ direction
