  • Job Description

    Our client, a Japanese IT development firm supporting the financial services industry, is seeking a Project Management Officer to support IT projects involving Foreign Exchange, Money Market, Derivatives, Bonds, GIRO, FAST, MEPS, and Cross-Border Payments.

    【Responsibilities】
    - Liaise with members of the Japan Head Office via email and online meetings in Japanese to facilitate project-related communication and coordination.
    - Discuss project-related matters, issues, and concerns with the Japanese Project Manager and support timely resolution.
    - Support the Project Manager in preparing project-related documents, coordinating meetings, and facilitating project sessions.
    - Support the management of the project lifecycle, from requirements gathering, design, and technical development through testing, user acceptance, training, documentation, and implementation, in accordance with the company's Project Management Process and Methodology.
    - Develop an understanding of business requirements, system architecture, and system design to support effective project coordination.
    - Coordinate with relevant stakeholders across business and technical functions to facilitate project progress and alignment with project objectives.
    - Promote effective collaboration, transparency, and accountability among cross-functional project teams.

Qualifications

    【Requirements & Preferences】

    (Must)
    - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or an equivalent qualification.
    - At least 4 years of relevant experience in Project Management, Project Management Office (PMO), or a similar role within an IT environment.
    - Proficiency in Japanese at JLPT N1 level or equivalent, with the ability to communicate effectively with Japan Head Office members via email and online meetings and discuss project-related matters with the Japanese Project Manager.
    - Good understanding of banking operations, including loans, deposits, accounting, and customer information systems, as well as banking systems and IT.

    (Advantageous)
    - Experience working in a Japanese corporate environment.
    - Experience working with banks or organisations within the financial services industry.
    - Experience supporting IT projects involving banking or payment systems.
