  Our client, a global Japanese trading company, is currently looking for an Assistant Trader (Nickel / Battery Metals).
  
  This role supports the expansion of nickel and battery metals trading activities across Asia & Oceania by assisting in both physical and derivatives trading under the guidance of senior traders. The incumbent will contribute to business growth by executing trades, supporting relationship management with key stakeholders, and strengthening trading capabilities through market analysis, exposure management, and disciplined execution.

  【Responsibilities】
  1) Trade Execution (Physical & Derivatives)
  - Support execution of physical nickel trades under senior trader supervision
  - Assist in futures and derivatives transactions for hedging and position management
  - Support pricing, structuring, and negotiation of contracts
  - Manage end-to-end trade lifecycle, including execution, documentation, and settlement
  
  2. Sales & Relationship Management
  - Support relationship management with customers, suppliers, and key industry stakeholders
  - Assist in executing trading strategies to expand market presence
  - Participate in commercial discussions and negotiations in line with business objectives
  
  3. Market Intelligence & Strategy
  - Monitor global nickel and battery metals markets (supply-demand, pricing, macro trends)
  - Identify trading opportunities based on market insights and inefficiencies
  - Support development of short- and mid-term trading strategies
  
  4. Business Development
  - Identify new business opportunities and potential counterparties
  - Support market entry initiatives and expansion into emerging markets
  - Contribute ideas to enhance trading strategies across physical and derivatives markets
  
  5. Exposure & Risk Management
  - Monitor trading positions and market exposure
  - Support implementation of hedging and risk mitigation strategies
  - Ensure alignment with internal risk management frameworks
  
  6. Operations & Administration
  - Support contract negotiation and execution with counterparties
  - Prepare and review trade documentation (contracts, L/C, shipping documents)
  - Monitor shipment schedules and logistics coordination
  - Follow up on payments and collections
  - Prepare regular reports for senior management
  
  7. Reporting
  - Provide market updates, P&L tracking, and exposure reports
  - Support internal reporting requirements and ad-hoc analysis
  
  8. Team Contribution
  - Contribute to team knowledge sharing and capability development
  - Support a collaborative and high-performance team environment
