• Job Description

  Our client, a well-established Japanese retail company with a strong presence in Singapore, is seeking a Store Development Manager to lead its store development activities, including site selection, lease negotiation, project cost management, vendor coordination, and team management.
  
  【Responsibilities】
  
  Site Selection & Market Research
  - Conduct market research to understand market trends, shopper demographics, and catchment areas for store expansion.
  - Assess potential store locations by analysing foot traffic, surrounding developments, and competitors.
  - Negotiate favourable lease and commercial terms for potential new store locations.
  - Prepare site selection, market analysis, and competitor reports for local management and Japan HQ.
  
  Project Budgeting & Cost Management
  - Monitor and manage budgets for new store development and fit-out projects.
  - Track project expenses and identify any differences or potential cost overruns.
  - Prepare regular reports on project costs and the financial status of ongoing projects.
  - Process payments for supplies and services accurately and on time in line with company policies.
  
  Vendor Sourcing & Procurement
  - Identify and evaluate suppliers for furniture, fixtures, retail equipment, and other materials required for store development.
  - Obtain, evaluate, and compare quotations from multiple vendors based on quality, commercial terms, and cost efficiency.
  - Process purchase orders and maintain accurate and organised procurement and cost records.
  
  Contract Administration & Contractor Liaison
  - Act as the main point of contact for suppliers, contractors, landlords, and other external parties involved in store development projects.
  - Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure projects are completed according to agreed timelines and requirements.
  - Manage and track vendor and contractor agreements to ensure all deliverables and contract terms are met.
  - Monitor lease and contract expiry dates and support renewals or renegotiations when required.
  
  Team Management
  - Lead, mentor, and develop the Store Development team to maintain strong performance.
  - Manage team workload and assign project responsibilities based on business priorities and deadlines.
  - Set clear KPIs and performance expectations and conduct regular performance reviews.
  - Coordinate between the Singapore team and Japan HQ to ensure clear communication and alignment on store development strategies.
