Exploring the future beyond the pandemic

The People Behind People (PBP) forum themed “Revival, Renewal, and Renaissance– HR’s Role in Building a Sustainable Enterprise” was held by the Institute for Human Resource Professionals (IHRP) to recognise the contributions of Singapore’s Human Resource community to the well-being of staff and the continuity of businesses.

The forum also explored the future for HR and HR professionals to look beyond the immediate challenges of the pandemic. As noted by IHRP’s CEO, Mayank Parekh, “Employees now expect greater flexibility in where and how work gets done. Enterprises must not only embrace this new reality but see this as an opportunity to co-opt new sources of skills, enhance productivity and ultimately build a more sustainable business through people.”

Digital Transformation and Work Transformation Playbooks

Two new launches were added to IHRP’s Human Capital Playbooks– Digital Transformation and Work Transformation playbooks. These playbooks serve as a guide to SMEs and HR practitioners to develop and implement transformation-related policies for their companies.

The digital transformation playbook guides organisations to address their digital adoption challenges and determine what skills, mindsets, processes, and infrastructure considerations are required for a smooth digital transformation journey while the work transformation playbook guides enterprises on steps to review the impact on workforce capabilities, workflow on jobs as well as a business strategy. 6 HR professionals have also conferred the IHRP Master Professional, the apex credential under the National HR certification framework.

What do you think of these two playbooks to enhance business continuity? How can HR work together with other departments to shape sustainable businesses for the long term?
