Job Description
Our client is a Japanese art gallery company seeking a Gallery Manager to oversee gallery operations, manage client relationships, support exhibitions and events, and drive business development initiatives. The successful candidate will report directly to the Director.
【 Responsibilities 】
- Oversee the daily operations of the gallery and museum, ensuring that both spaces are well-maintained and appropriately prepared for exhibitions, events, and visitors.
- Lead and coordinate the Singapore-based team across sales, exhibitions, programmes, design, logistics, and administration, including delegating responsibilities and monitoring project progress.
- Manage exhibitions and projects from planning and production through to installation, opening, and deinstallation, coordinating closely with artists, curators, designers, contractors, and vendors.
- Manage artist- and artwork-related matters, including artist communications, artwork documentation, consignments, availability, shipping, storage, and installation.
- Oversee sales activities and build strong relationships with collectors, corporate clients, and other stakeholders.
- Support artwork presentations, private viewings, quotations, reservations, and post-sale coordination.
- Manage and support the gallery’s participation in local and international art fairs, including artwork selection, documentation, logistics, booth requirements, and coordination with external partners.
- Coordinate exhibitions, talks, workshops, VIP events, and other gallery programmes.
- Develop and manage partnerships with cultural institutions, corporate partners, and educational organisations.
- Monitor exhibition, project, and operational budgets, including quotations, procurement, invoices, and other administrative matters, and provide regular updates to management.
- Serve as the key liaison between the Singapore team and Whitestone Gallery’s international offices, coordinating international exhibitions, artwork movements, and artist projects.

【Requirements & Preferences】
- Bachelor’s degree in Arts Management, Fine Arts, Cultural Management, Business, Communications, or a related discipline.
- 5–7 years of relevant experience, preferably within an art gallery, museum, arts institution, or cultural organisation.
- Proficiency in Japanese (minimum JLPT N2) is essential to communicate effectively with Japanese-speaking management, artists, clients, and business partners.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Experience in team management, project management, or overseeing gallery or museum operations.English Level

Benefit
【 What You Will Receive 】
- Commission: 3%–4% of the net amount received by the company for each artwork sold, after deducting the artist’s share, applicable taxes, and transaction or bank charges.
- Annual Leave: 10 days, increasing annually up to a maximum of 20 days.
- Medical and Dental Benefits: Reimbursement of up to S$600 per year upon submission of receipts, applicable after successful completion of probation.
